Ted Todd Member	posted 09-05-2005 10:20 AM Hey everybody! Here is my thought. We can't all be in the gulf coast states to help but we can donate one hour of our time. My challenge is this: Once Ralphie boy identifies a local charity right in the heart of this mess, we all donate the financial equivalent of one hour of our polygraph time. For most of us, I am guessing the average would be about 100 dollars. Some of the big boys and the PHDs may make more than that but I think it is a good average. With 170 examiners on this board, do the math. It would be a nice chunk of change for someone who really needs our help right now. One hour is not too much to ask is it? Ralph, when you ID the charity, I will be the first to send you my check. Now is an excellent time for all of us to count our blessings! LETS GITTER DUN! Ted Todd Member	posted 09-05-2005 01:03 PM Polyops, My wife and I have also sent a check to the Red Cross. You can't go into any store right now in California where they don't ask you if you want to ad a few bucks to the bill for the Red Cross. This is a good thing. I was thinking more along the lines of finding a small church or volunteer organization in the center of the disaster that may be overlooked by the Red Cross. I have heard of small volunteer fire departments in some of the smaller parishes that have taken in homeless families. They may not be elligible for Red Cross funding and we could have a big impact in helping them out. Ben (LSUPOLY) lives and works in the middle of this disaster. Taylor Member	posted 09-06-2005 11:22 AM I donated the money from one exam to the Red Cross. They can use anything anyone is willing to give. Since Utah received hundreds of survivors, I have personally had the gratification of working with the surviviors under the Red Cross. Within the first two days, all the survivors in Utah have received medical attention, clothing and all the food and water, gatorade, juice, & milk they can consume. I think Utah has it easier than other states as we only had about 600 survivors yesterday. We are expecting 2000. Texas is overwhelmed with people. If you can't find a little organization, be assure that the Red Cross is helping everyone. Taylor IP: Logged
